Abstract

This research topic is derived from the proposal established by UNESCO, related to State policies in educational matters. It emerged as a product of several meetings with organizations specialized in the area of ​​physical education, from 1978 to 2015, from which the need to raise the quality of Physical Education emerged. This project highlights the importance of this area as an essential part of the training of individuals, since it contributes to comprehensive development, promotes an active and healthy lifestyle. The central objective of the work was to demonstrate the benefits that OBE currently produces. For its development, it was necessary for the researcher to review documents and manifestos issued by UNESCO, as well as other bibliographic sources that served as theoretical references for the work. A documentary investigation was carried out, based on the contributions of the consulted authors. The results are presented as a result of an interpretation of important UNESCO documents, consistent with teacher training and updating. As conclusions, the promotion of a comprehensive vision of Quality Physical Education is predominant, combined with holistic education to create and improve lifestyles and health at an early age, develop a training process from an emancipatory educational model, in the same way. The updating of teachers who work in the area of ​​physical education is recommended, as they are responsible for the comprehensive training of students. Finally, generate positive attitudes in teachers towards educational research and innovation in the area of ​​physical education, as a fundamental disciplinary area.
