Abstract

Reverse logistics in the Panamanian port industry is a problem that has not received enough attention to date. As a student of Port Logistics Administration, I believe that it is very important to approach this topic reflectively to analyze the trends, challenges and opportunities of sustainability and environmental economics in the Panamanian port industry. In this sense, the main objective of this study article is to determine the practice of logistics in the port of Panama and analyze its impact on the environment and the economy. To this end, the theoretical basis of the use of reverse logistics and its use in the port department will be reviewed and existing documents related to the topic will be reviewed. The methods used will include data collection and analysis through interviews with port logistics experts and the review of previous reports and studies on the subject. The results obtained will help identify current trends in reverse logistics in the Panamanian port industry, as well as the challenges and opportunities for environmental and economic sustainability. In conclusion, it is expected that this study contributes to the understanding of the actors of the Panamanian port industry about the importance of implementing reverse logistics practices to improve the sustainability of the industry.
