PROPOSAL TO IMPROVE THE PROCESS MANAGEMENT OF THE GAMBOA REGIONAL WAREHOUSE, NATIONAL POLICE, PANAMÁ

Abstract

This work presents the results obtained from the investigation, whose objective was to propose to improve the administrative management and services offered by the Gamboa Regional Warehouse to the different police zones of the province of Panama. Its importance is based on the fact that, over the years, and as the logistics phenomenon evolves, the warehouse concept at an international level has varied and expanded its scope of responsibility. Its theoretical basis lies in the idea of the warehouse, which in this case, is a service and support unit in the organic and functional structure of the National Police, with well-defined objectives of protection, custody, control, and supply of materials and products, that will benefit all members of the institution, in adherence to the laws and regulations that govern the procedures established for public services. The type of research is a field with documentary support, non-experimental design, descriptive level, and feasible project modality. It can be mentioned as relevant results derived from the investigation that the proposed proposal allows for improving some weak points found during the gathering of information, after the application of the ABC methodology, for the inventory classification. Among the most critical conclusions, it stands out that the administration of the Gamboa Regional Warehouse needs to be improved by applying the basic principles of the administrative process under the parameters established by law for such purposes, as well as inventories, to codify them and improve their activity. Efficiently and effectively, the structures must be improved along with the lighting system. Thus, the work environment and the organizational development of the Gamboa Regional Warehouse will be significantly improved.
